SL1 Best Manager, Manier of the Purdue Boilermakers Tuesday, June 8th , 2021 Purdue Boilermakers field manager Joey Manier has brought a winning attitude to the team and the city. His no-nonsense approach, work ethic and baseball experience have paved the way for success. This season the Boilermakers parlayed his managerial skills and some talented ballplayers into a first place spot in the Conference 1 Big Ten standings. Purdue finished the year with a 35-16 record. To everybody's delight Manier was voted the 2021 Conference 1 Manager of the Year by the baseball writers. "Mr. Manier doesn't take any nonsense. If you aren't doing your job, he's not afraid to call you on it," noted one of his ballplayers. "But the team wouldn't want to play for anyone else. He's tough, demanding, but he treats everyone fairly and doesn't play favorites. Nobody gets pampered on his ballclub." |
