Winchel Socks It to Atlanta 3 Times Friday, June 24th , 2022 It was a good day for the Weedpatch Widowmakers and an exceptional one for Mike Winchel. The 23-year-old right fielder sent three bombs out of the park to help the Widowmakers beat the Atlanta Aggies, 13-4, at Aggies Ballpark. "When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Winchel said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day." For the day, he scored 3 times, drove in 6 runs and smacked 4 hits in 6 at-bats. Mike Winchel doubled in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 9th. Batting .282 to date, Winchel has 16 home runs and 50 RBIs. |
