Williams Keeps Hit Streak Alive Sunday, June 19th , 2022 Phil Williams, first baseman for the Newark Flyers, ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 44 games with 2 hits in his club's 5-4 victory over the Fremont Ambassadors at Ballpark of Fremont. "I don't really know why it's even happening," he said with a grin after the game. "So asking me how long I can keep it up is kind of irrelevant. It'll end when it ends." Phil Williams hit an RBI double in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. Williams on the season is batting .398 with 22 home runs.
