Williams Keeps Hit Streak Alive Wednesday, June 15th , 2022 The hot bat of Flyers first baseman Phil Williams continues to churn out hit after hit, game after game. His consecutive-game hitting streak now numbers 43 games after he went 1-for-4 in today's 7-1 loss to the Miners at Newark Fields. "I'm trying not to think about it much," he said later. "I don't want to mess with whatever zone I'm in." Phil Williams singled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, flied out in the 6th and struck out in the 9th. So far on the season, Williams is hitting .396 with 22 home runs, 60 RBIs and 49 runs scored. He has 82 hits and played in 55 games. |
