Williams Boosts Hit Streak to 35 Games Saturday, June 4th , 2022 The hitting streak for Newark first baseman Phil Williams now stands at 35 games, but the Flyers dropped today's contest 6-4 to the Huntsville Rockets. Williams went 1-for-4 in the game. "Things went well for me personally," he said. "I got 1 hit and the streak keeps going. But we didn't win the game." Phil Williams struck out in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, flied out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Alex O'Neal in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th. This year, Williams has 20 home runs and a .404 batting average. |
