Swing! Swang! Swung! Vega Smashes 3 HR Tuesday, May 24th , 2022 Andres Vega went yard three times in a Barrie Admirals victory over the Columbus Bowsers at Ballpark of Columbus. "I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit." For the day, the Barrie third baseman went 3-for-7 against Columbus with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Admirals to the 6-4 win. "I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out." Andres Vega struck out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Harry Bowman in the 8th, hit a solo-shot off Vince Mellon in the 10th, struck out in the 12th and hit a two-run home run off Rodolfo Hernandez in the 14th. This year, Vega has hit at a .214 clip with 36 hits, 15 home runs, 27 RBIs and 24 runs scored. |
