Tropics Paulsen Raps 3 Homers
Saturday, May 9th , 2020
White Deer Tropics right fielder Jason Paulsen put on a dazzling display of power today at Miller Park against the Louisville Sweepers. In the 6-4 Tropics victory Paulsen penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts.
"He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Louisville manager Mike Barriga said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well."
Along with his three home runs, the 22-year-old had 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Paulsen said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today."
Jason Paulsen flied out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Ricky Mena in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Ricky Mena in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Ricky Davila in the 7th and struck out in the 9th.
Presently Paulsen is hitting .303 with 7 home runs and 10 RBIs. He has played in 28 games and scored 18 times.
