3 Roundtrippers for McKeown
Monday, May 4th , 2020
Bobby McKeown must believe in the Big Bang theory. He proved it today by banging three deep against the Kalamazoo Comets. The hard-hitting Columbus Bowsers first baseman added a lot of firepower and excitement to the 12-7 Bowsers win, leaving fans and the opposing dugout buzzing about his standout performance.

"He looked real good today," Kalamazoo manager Malcolm Griffin said later. "I think the guys were awful impressed by him. Frustrated, but impressed."

For the game, McKeown had 5 hits in 5 at-bats, drove in 8, and scored 3 runs. The 21-year-old is known in league circles as a tireless worker, and told reporters he has recently been putting in extra time fine-tuning his swing, "to keep it short, compact and simple."

"Looks like it worked today," he said.

Bobby McKeown walked in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Danny Arroyo in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Juan Rivero in the 8th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Jim Unknown in the 9th.

For the season McKeown has produced 8 hits in 13 at-bats for a .615 average with 3 home runs and gotten on base at a .688 clip.
