Case Scorches Deltas for 3 HR
Saturday, May 2nd , 2020
It was a good day for the Glace Bay Miners and an exceptional one for Tom Case. The 21-year-old catcher sent three bombs out of the park to help the Miners beat the Deltaville Deltas 16-5 at Rogers Centre.
"When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Case said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day."
For the day, he scored 4 times, drove in 6 runs and smacked 3 hits in 4 at-bats.
Tom Case struck out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Oscar Trevino in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Oscar Trevino in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 8th and walked in the 9th.
So far this season Case has put up a .184 batting average with 7 hits, 5 home runs and 9 RBIs.
