Blast Off! 3 HR for Cook Saturday, April 30th , 2022 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Glace Bay Miners. Deltaville left fielder Tim Cook tripled up on the home runs to propel the Deltas to a win, 9-3, at Rogers Centre. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Glace Bay manager Angel Cano said. "Cook hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Cook collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 5 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Tim Cook struck out in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off David Turner in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Chris Payton in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Chris Payton in the 8th. Thus far this year, Cook is batting .138 with 3 home runs, 6 RBIs and 6 runs scored. |
