Northern A Top Hurler Announced Thursday, October 17th , 2024 The spotlight today is on John Manship of the Glace Bay Miners. He was named the top pitcher in the Northern A and will be honored with the 2024 Pitcher of the Year Award. Manship compiled an impressive 11-4 won-lost mark to capture this year's honor. In 171.1 innings of work and 27 starts, the Miners star struck out 124, while giving up 161 hits and 30 walks. He limited opposing batters to a .253 average. He received 24 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Scott Barth of the Grand Rapids Jet Hawks finished second in voting, while Larry Weese of the Glace Bay Miners finished third.
