Santana Grabs N-A Reliever of the Year Award Monday, October 14th , 2024 Juan Santana was a calming influence out of the Grand Rapids Jet Hawks bullpen this season. His teammates and manager said he had a poised demeanor about him that was typical of someone much older and more experienced. His poise has paid off, as the 24-year-old turned in a sparkling season and has been named the winner of the Northern A Reliever of the Year Award for 2024. The Scott Township, Pennsylvania native won the award with 19 saves in 36 relief appearances, 53 strikeouts in 59.1 innings and a record of 6-1 to go with his 1.82 ERA. He received 18 first place votes out of a possible 24. Ruben Torres of the Santa Rosa Desperados finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Myung-joo Au of the Grand Rapids Jet Hawks finished third with 5 first place votes.
