Hedger Nabs N-A Most Valuable Player Award Friday, October 23rd , 2026 Mike Hedger of the Grand Rapids Jet Hawks had a fine season this year and today he accepted the Most Valuable Player Award for 2026. The 23-year-old first baseman put up a .330 average and a .400 on-base percentage, piling up 154 hits, 28 doubles, no triples, 31 home runs, 104 RBIs and 82 runs scored. He received 17 first place votes out of a possible 24. Vinny Torres of the Huntsville Rockets finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while George Gericke of the Grand Rapids Jet Hawks finished third with 2 first place votes.
