Glace Bay Wins Division Series Friday, September 13th , 2024 Brandon Bates said he didn't even realize how well he had been playing in the Division Series until he was shown his own statistics. The Glace Bay Miners second baseman put up a .333 average with 1 home runs, 7 RBI and 5 runs scored, enough to earn him series MVP honors. It all added up to his Miners advancing to the League Championship Series, with a 4-2 series win over the Huntsville Rockets. "I didn't really pay attention to the numbers or my stats at all as we went along," he said. "I'm just so focused on trying to help the team win, that's it." The series victory had become official with a 11-4 triumph at Ballpark of Austin. Even if Bates is not paying close attention to his stats, the rest of baseball certainly will be keeping an eye on him as the playoffs continue. "I like to be under pressure and think I respond well to it," he said. The Glace Bay Miners don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Santa Rosa Desperados - Grand Rapids Jet Hawks series. Santa Rosa leads the series 3 games to 2.
