Jim Henkemeyer Captures Prestigious Trophy

The future looks extremely bright for Jim Henkemeyer. At the age of 20, many players are still trying to find their way in ABA Class-A League.
Henkemeyer has not only found his way, he's already established himself as one of the game's brightest stars, today being named the winner of the Southern A Most Valuable Player Award.
"I didn't expect to hit .299 this year, that's for sure," the left fielder said.
The Dollywood Partons star also put up a .393 on-base percentage this year, with 138 hits, 28 doubles, 10 triples, 31 home runs, 98 RBIs and 104 runs scored.
He received 21 first place votes out of a possible 24. Ken Gavin of the Bangor Lumberjacks finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Tony Thomas of the Mexico City Aztecs finished third.
