Top Pitcher Award Announced by S-A Thursday, October 19th , 2023 The spotlight today is on Nick Carrier of the Bangor Lumberjacks. He was named the top pitcher in the Southern A and will be honored with the 2023 Pitcher of the Year Award. Carrier compiled an impressive 12-4 won-lost mark to capture this year's honor. In 162 innings of work and 28 starts, the Lumberjacks star struck out 149, while giving up 119 hits and 32 walks. He limited opposing batters to a .204 average. He received 24 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Ben Calder of the Bangor Lumberjacks finished second in voting, while David Fadely of the Bangor Lumberjacks finished third.
