5-Hit Blitz by Richins Tuesday, September 5th , 2023 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for John Richins -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Ballpark of White Deer and paced the 8-5 Tropics win over the Lake Elsinore Storm. After his dynamite batting performance, the White Deer second baseman told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. John Richins hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and doubled in the 8th.
