Newark's Shafer Bags N-A Top Batter for August Friday, September 1st , 2023 Ben Shafer made his presence known as one of the best young stars in the Northern A this past month. The Newark Flyers left fielder shined through the month of August and has won the Batter of the Month award. The 20-year-old hit .390 with 8 home runs, 28 RBIs and 25 runs scored. This year, Shafer is batting .352 with 18 home runs and 73 RBIs. |
