Title Captured - Northern A West Division Won by St. Catharines Wednesday, August 23rd , 2023 Those expecting a dogfight in the Northern A West Division this year got quite the opposite - an early, easy division crown for the St. Catharines Blue Jays. "When you look at how far we are ahead, it might look like it was an easy year, but it didn't feel that way for us," said reliever Evan Sippel. "A lot of blood, sweat and tears went into putting us here." With a current record of 80-46, the Blue Jays can no longer be caught, cinching up a 5th division title for the franchise. Team manager Freddy Coss said the club will "take some time to celebrate" the division title, but then "it's right back to work." |
