5-Hit Barrage by Herd Friday, August 23rd , 2024 Caleb Herd really sizzled at the plate in his team's 14-0 win over the Tampa Capitals. The Grand Rapids second baseman blistered Tampa for 5 hits in 6 at-bats. "Herd was too tough to get out today," the Capitals skipper said in the postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too." Caleb Herd hit a two-run single in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a three-run double in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
