Martinez Goes Cycling Sunday, August 9th , 2026 Getting 4 hits is a good day by any measure, but when those include a single, double, triple and a home run -- that's something special. Jose Martinez's day was a special one. The center fielder hit for the cycle to spark the 15-8 Mexico City Aztecs victory over the Kalamazoo Comets at Wizards Stadium. Mexico City manager Dan Martinez said he thought the whole lineup looked good in batting practice, but had not been expecting anything extraordinary from Martinez in particular. "Jose caught me by surprise today," the skipper said. "He looked good before the game, but man, he looked unbelievable during it." For the day, Martinez finished with 3 RBI and 3 runs scored to go with his 4 hits. Jose Martinez hit a solo-shot off Michael Brumfield in the 1st, hit an RBI triple in the 3rd, flied out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
