DeLaet Parks 3 HR in the Seats Saturday, July 20th , 2024 Grand Rapids first baseman Matt DeLaet blasted three homers at Jet Hawks Ballpark in the 21-7 Jet Hawks victory over the Tampa Capitals. For the game, Matt DeLaet scored 4 times and knocked in 8 runs. When he hit his last home run, his teammates, hearing the crack of the bat, leaped off the bench and rushed on the field to greet the jubilant DeLaet when he reached home plate. "It was just one game, but it sure was a lot of fun -- 5-for-6, three roundtrippers and a win," a gleeful DeLaet told BNN reporters in a postgame interview. "What a day." Matt DeLaet struck out in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Conroy Hill in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off John Chapin in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off John Chapin in the 8th. This season, DeLaet is batting .372 with 130 hits, 27 home runs, 116 RBIs, 49 walks, .455 OBP and has scored 79 runs. He has played in 88 games. |
