5-for-6 Day for Blakesley Monday, July 27th , 2026 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Lyle Blakesley -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Engineers Ballpark and paced the 17-5 Blue Jays win over the Deltaville Deltas. After his dynamite batting performance, the St. Catharines first baseman told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. Lyle Blakesley doubled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
