N-A Votes Flyers Newingham Top Player Monday, July 15th , 2024 Newark fans have something to crow about today as Newark first baseman Jeff Newingham nabbed the Northern A Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Newingham. He posted a .611 average (11-for-18) this past week with 4 home runs, 9 RBIs, and 9 runs scored. In his season totals Newingham has 5 home runs and a .355 batting average. |
