That was confirmed today by doctors when they revealed that Mortenson had sustained a stretched elbow ligament and will be out for about 9 months. Mortenson has taken the mound for 10 relief appearances this season, nailing down 1 save while notching a 2-3 record with a 3.54 ERA.
