Oswald Grabs N-A Reliever of the Year Award
Saturday, October 16th , 2021
At the age of 23, Steve Oswald says he still has a lot to learn about life in ABA Class-A League.
But he certainly seems to be a quick study, as the Glace Bay Miners reliever was better than all others this year and has captured the 2021 Northern A Reliever of the Year Award.
"I hope to win this a few more times before all is said and done in my career," the East Haddam, Connecticut native said.
For the season, Oswald had 35 saves in 60 relief appearances, which totaled 75.1. He fanned 93 betters, while walking 18 and put up a record of 7-6 to go with his 1.79 ERA.
He received 24 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. John Salgado of the Santa Rosa Desperados finished second in voting, while Gabe Calloway of the San Antonio Stallions finished third.
