World Series Sweep for Dollywood Monday, September 30th , 2019 The Dollywood Partons rolled over the Deltaville Deltas 2-1 at Rogers Centre to easily win the 2019 World Series crown. Dollywood won in a walk and swept the series from the Deltas 4-0. It was their 2nd championship title. Winning manager Adam Freeman praised his own club as well as the opposition, calling the Deltas "a fine team." "It wasn't as easy as it looked. We had to play good baseball to beat them," he said. "We always seemed to come up with the key hit at the right time and to make the plays on defense when we had to. That's how you win the World Series." The Partons took first place in the Southern A East Division and rounded out the year with a 107-33 record. |
