Flood Touches All the Bases, Hits for Cycle Friday, August 4th , 2023 Gene Flood roughed up Kalamazoo Comets pitching in a big way at Wizards Stadium, leading the Bangor to a win, 10-4. With his parents and family watching from the stands, the 22-year-old center fielder put on a magnificent show, hitting for the cycle -- collecting a single, double, triple and home run in the same game. "It was a good day for that to happen," a beaming Flood said after the game. "I really got some good looks and delivered. Sometimes you're just on." He finished his historic day with 5 hits in 5 at-bats, 4 RBI and 2 runs scored. Gene Flood singled in the 1st, tripled in the 3rd, hit a two-run double in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 8th.
