Miners Captures Wild Card Thursday, September 1st , 2022 For the Glace Bay Miners, it's not how you start, but how you finish. That's the mantra the team is following after today qualifying for the playoffs. "We may be going into the playoffs as a wild card team, but we plan to finish the playoffs as champions," said starting pitcher Brian Wilkey. "There's no shortage of confidence from guys in our clubhouse." With a record of 83-51, there will of course be teams with better track records in the postseason. But team manager Angel Cano said his club has "infinite optimism" that they can win the franchise's 1st ABA Class-A League championship. |
