Newark Clinches Wild Card Thursday, August 25th , 2022 The Newark Flyers don't see themselves as underdogs or long shots to win the World Series. It may have been only a wild card berth the team was celebrating, as opposed to an Northern A East Division crown, but that didn't damper the optimism. "I think we're one of the best teams in this league and when it counts, I know we can be the best," said starting pitcher Sean Torkelson. "No one is going to remember the team that had the best regular season record. They are going to remember the World Series champions and we believe that's going to be us." The Flyers have a 84-43 record and will be looking to win the 1st World Series in team history. |
