GONE! GONE! GONE! 3 HRs for Nunez
Friday, August 14th , 2020
Players don't hit three home runs in a game very often and when they do, it is something to celebrate. After today, Hector Nunez can celebrate.
The Columbus Bowsers third baseman powered three into the stands at Ballpark of Columbus today against the Louisville Sweepers.
"It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Nunez told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one."
In all, he was 3-for-4 as the Bowsers toppled Louisville by a score of 10-4, knocking in 4 runs and scoring 3 times.
"He is blessed with a natural home run swing," Columbus manager Adam Farmer said. "He gets the ball up in the air."
Hector Nunez flied out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Jose Jacobo in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Marshall Helms in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Gustavo Pacheco in the 8th.
This year Nunez is batting .314 with 11 hits and 5 home runs. He has scored 7 times and has batted in 7 runs.
