Groesbeck Goes on Rampage Against Cannonballers Thursday, May 30th , 2024 Even as a kid, Billy Groesbeck said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Cannonballers Ballpark, Groesbeck showed how well he learned that lesson. The 26-year-old third baseman had 5 hits in 5 at-bats for the Santa Rosa Desperados, helping his team knock off the Cottage City Cannonballers by a score of 21-13. "They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did." Billy Groesbeck singled in the 2nd, walked in the 3rd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Jim Unknown in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
