Cannonballers Kelly Raps 3 Homers Sunday, July 31st , 2022 Anyone wearing a glove and sitting in the bleachers for today's Cannonballers-Deltas game had a good chance at snagging a home run ball. Cottage City left fielder Sam Kelly thrice sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir, helping lead the Cottage City to a win, 20-11, over Deltaville. "Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub," Kelly said later. "I'm not going out there thinking I need another home run." Kelly, who is tied for 8th in the N-A in runs scored with 60, was 5-for-6 on the day with 9 runs batted in. Sam Kelly hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Jim Unknown in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Jim Unknown in the 7th. At present, Kelly is batting .284 and has collected 19 home runs, 57 RBIs, .370 OBP and scored 60 runs. |
