Pete Roan Wallops 3 Homers for Lumberjacks Sunday, July 31st , 2022 Today was a special one for Pete Roan of the Bangor Lumberjacks as he slammed three home runs in the 11-5 Lumberjacks win over the White Deer Tropics. "Lately, I've been uppercutting the ball too much," he said to sportswriters after the game. "I would hit it hard, but they just went sky high and stayed in the ballpark. No big long outs for me in this game. I leveled out my swing and connected on the sweet spot. I knew they were gone the minute I hit 'em." The Bangor first baseman collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats, drove in 4, and scored 3 runs in the contest at Ballpark of Bangor. Pete Roan grounded out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Eric Zane in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Victor Benavidez in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Mike Price in the 8th. So far on the season, Roan is hitting .301 with 27 home runs, 72 RBIs and 74 runs scored. He has 125 hits and played in 99 games. |
