After a 6-hit effort to lead Grand Rapids's 13-1 victory over the Deltaville Deltas, left fielder Devin Lepp told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the ABA Class A-level is really something special."

The 24-year-old player earned his accolades at Rogers Centre with a spectacular 6-for-6 game against the Deltas.

"His swing is getting there," said Jet Hawks skipper Sadayuki Nishikawa, who spoke glowingly of Lepp after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Devin did that to perfection."

Devin Lepp singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a two-run double in the 5th, doubled in the 7th, hit an RBI double in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.

Lepp is currently hitting at a .377 pace with 4 home runs and 20 RBIs.
