Burchett Sizzles -- Smokes Jet Hawks for 5 Hits
Friday, May 10th , 2024
Ryan Burchett was smoking all game at the plate, but couldn't finish his day with a victory cigar.

After the 24-year-old Glace Bay Miners first baseman tallied 5 hits in 5 at-bats, he was forced to watch as his club dropped the 9-6 decision to the Grand Rapids Jet Hawks.

"That was no fun," Burchett said to reporters after the game. "You hate to lose any game but it's even worse somehow to feel like you did enough to win."

Ryan Burchett singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Adam Asbury in the 7th and doubled in the 8th.

This year, Burchett has hit at a .372 pace and produced 32 RBIs, 8 home runs and scored 39 runs.
