Blast Off! 3 HR for Patlan Friday, May 29th , 2026 Pablo Patlan went on an explosive hitting spree against the Barrie Admirals at Tony Gwynn Stadium, launching a trio of blasts to help the Mexico City Aztecs win, 16-5. The first baseman finished 4-for-5 with 4 runs scored and 5 RBI. "It was just one of those days," Patlan said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." Barrie skipper Manny Uset said Patlan was "locked-in." "We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him." Pablo Patlan hit a solo-shot off Joaquin Santiago in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Alberto Quijada in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, hit an RBI triple in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Jesus Ochoa in the 8th. This year, Patlan is batting .272 with 14 home runs. |
