Hunter Raps Barrie for 5 Hits
Wednesday, May 8th , 2024
There are moments in a player's career that they will not soon forget.
Eric Hunter of the Nashua Sweepers had one such moment at Stadia de Leones, when he went 5 for 5 at the plate. His hitting heroics weren't enough to pull out the victory, however, and Nashua succumbed to defeat, 11-6, to the Barrie Admirals.
"This was quite a day for me individually, but a little disheartening at the same time," the 25-year-old shortstop told reporters in the postgame interview. "It would have been very special if we had won the game."
Eric Hunter singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Hunter is hitting .265 this year with 1 home run, 14 RBIs and 17 runs scored. He has 27 hits in 102 at-bats, 13 walks and a .364 on-base percentage. Hunter has played in 28 games.
