Big Day with Bat: Mora 6-for-7
Monday, May 25th , 2026
There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 6 hits in a day.
Jose Mora is one of those rare few, as he went 6-for-7 against the Deltaville Deltas at Rogers Centre. The monster effort from the 21-year-old left fielder helped the Newark Flyers get the win, 14-4.
"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Deltas manager Tyler Byrd. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today."
Jose Mora singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, struck out in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
This season, Mora has banged out 54 hits in 170 at-bats for a .318 average with 8 home runs. He is getting on base at a .404 pace and his totals also include 32 RBIs and 31 runs scored.
