Flores Belts Bunch of Base Hits
Tuesday, June 10th , 2025
Tampa third baseman Alejandro Flores added his name to the record books with a 5-hit spree at Ballpark of Fremont, but found his special moment spoiled when the Fremont Ambassadors took a shootout win, 13-10, over the Capitals.
"I would have much preferred getting only a couple of hits and winning the game," he confessed to reporters afterward. "It's hard to go back into the clubhouse and celebrate a 5-hit game when you also lost."
Capitals manager Matt Kaczmarczyk called Flores's game "a once-in-a-lifetime moment."
"It's a shame the guy can't really enjoy it," the skipper said. "It's also a shame what happened with our pitching, but at least that we can try to fix."
Alejandro Flores hit a solo-shot off Shunso Tabata in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.
Currently Flores has 3 home runs and a .339 batting average.
