Rockets Dakota Penwell Will Miss Season
Saturday, August 21st , 2021
The doctors have spoken and Dakota Penwell of the Huntsville Rockets didn't like what he heard. The 24-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Penwell sustained his season-ending injury during the St. Catharines Blue Jays game yesterday at Engineers Ballpark. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Huntsville medical staff reported Penwell had a ruptured ulnar collateral ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 10 months.
Penwell has pitched 123 innings and molded a 3.37 ERA with no saves. He has surrendered 117 hits while registering 125 strikeouts on his way to a 8-10 record for the Rockets this year.
