Jim Chapman discovered that today at Long Beach Grounds, as he smashed three home runs during the 14-4 Weedpatch Widowmakers win over the Long Beach Keys. "I got three balls to hit and nailed all three of them," the Weedpatch shortstop said in his postgame interview. "The first was a hanging curve, the second was right down the middle and the last one was a good pitch, but I guessed right and put the wood to it." Chapman finished the day with 3 hits in 4 at-bats and 6 RBIs. Jim Chapman grounded out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 6th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Jim Unknown in the 7th.
