Dust Devils Mathematically Out of Playoffs
Wednesday, August 4th , 2021
Trey Maughan said it's going to be "an awfully long offseason" for the Kansas City Dust Devils after they missed the ABA Class-A League playoffs. The club came close, but ultimately ran out of games to secure a postseason spot and were eliminated from contention today.
The Dust Devils have made the playoffs 11 times in their 22 years as a ABA Class-A League franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 4th in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 2017. In the last 10 seasons, the Dust Devils have missed the playoffs 5 times. Kansas City last won the World Series in 2007.
