Burns's Season Could be Over
Thursday, July 29th , 2021
Jim Burns will soon find out from his doctors if his season will continue. The first diagnosis was not too positive and indicated the Cottage City starting pitcher could miss the remainder of the year. Burns was injured while throwing a pitch in the Cannonballers-Dust Devils clash at Kansas City Grounds recently. Doctors said he has a torn flexor tendon in his elbow and would be out a minimum of 14-15 months.
To date, Burns has a 2-2 mark in 0 starts with a 4.53 ERA. He has given up 45 hits in 45.2 innings, struck out 57 and issued 8 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .253 batting average against him.
