Miami Blanks Sonoma, Alvers Winner Tuesday, June 21st , 2022 Jason Alvers was in command in his outing against the Sonoma Scorpions. He hurled the Miami Boll Weevils to a 4-0 shutout victory, yielded 2 hits and chalked up 7 strikeouts and 2 walks. "A complete-game shutout is fun territory for me," he told reporters in the postgame interview. "I had good balance and mechanics and was able to keep the ball down. When I do that, good things happen." Thus far this season, Alvers has tossed 37 innings in 6 starts, fanned 30 batters, walked 12 and put up a 2.19 ERA with 3 wins and no losses.
