Ragin Cajuns Need Extra Innings to Top Bombardiers, 2-0
|
Stockton and Cincinnati left the crowd in suspense until the final out.
Cincinnati got a terrific performance from pitcher Gabriel Huey, but it wasn't enough to beat the Stockton Ragin Cajuns. Stockton won the Ballpark of Cincinnati contest, 2-0. Huey threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. The winner in relief was Patrick Billue. He is now 3-3. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings.
Stockton used the timely hitting of Zack Husley to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Ragin Cajuns on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Husley attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
Stockton's record now stands at 39-29, placing them 4th in the Western AA Central Division.
