Scharn collected 5 hits against the Rohnert Park Cougars, but he couldn't win the game. Washington fell, 7-6, in extra innings at Ballpark of Greenup. "It's a shame we didn't win," Scharn said later. "It would have been a very special day if that had happened." "In every one of his at-bats, things were in his favor," Cougars manager Ramiro Mendiola said. "We couldn't keep him from getting ahead in the count and once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get better pitches to hit."
