Mountaineers Get 3-2 Win Versus Riverside
|
The Winchester Mountaineers defeated the Riverside Rotters, 3-2, at Mountaineers Park. Winchester catcher Mike Hankins had a superb performance. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. At 8-3, the Mountaineers have played well so far.
Winchester took a 3-2 lead on Gabe Osburn's 2nd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Osburn hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Riverside pitcher Andy Shoemaker visibly frustrated.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Winchester manager Mitchell Young said.
