Winchester Advances to League Championship Series Sunday, September 21st , 2025 The Winchester Mountaineers have advanced to the League Championship Series, thanks in large part to the pitching performance of right-hander Casey Abbott. Abbott led the way during the Division Series, as his club eliminated the Riverside Rotters 4-2. The final game came tonight at Mountaineers Park with a 3-0 victory for Winchester. "I don't think I did anything special or better than any of my teammates that helped us get here," Abbott said. "It takes everyone to win a series." En route to the MVP award, he registered a 0.00 ERA over 12.2 innings pitched, with 18 strikeouts. The Winchester Mountaineers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Corpus Christi Mermen - Encinitas Eskimo Brothers series. Corpus Christi leads the series 3 games to 2.
