In a close game at Panthers Park, the Ontario Sunrays edged the Wichita Panthers, 5-4. Ontario second baseman Chih Ren stood apart with his performance. He went 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. Willie Salcedo, now 2-0, was credited with the win in 2.2 innings of relief. He allowed 2 runs on 2 hits, while striking out 0 and walking 5. Drew Martin earned the save for Ontario.

With Ontario leading 3-2 in the top of the seventh, Ren hit a run-scoring single off Wichita hurler Brian Wilson. It was the 26th hit of the season for Ren and put his team ahead, 4-2.

"It was a good effort all around," said Ren.

The last-place Sunrays own a record of 37-87.
